Patsy Cline began her singing career in the Baptist church choir at the age of thirteen. After that, and with her great determination, her singing career was beginning. She started off in local radio shows, and by singing at dances, and by having the luck to meet the right people, she managed to get a recording contract with Four Star Records in 1954. 
The most popular female country singer in recording history, Patsy Cline has achieved icon status since her tragic early death at age thirty in 1963. Cline is invariably invoked as a standard for female vocalists, and she has inspired scores of singers including K D Lang, Loretta Lynn, Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood, and Wynonna Judd.
